Martyr’s Day-2019

In India, there are five days declared as Martyrs' Day (at the national level also known as Sarvodaya day). They are named in honor of those who are recognized as martyrs for the nation. 21 October is Police Martyrs' Day (or Police Commemoration Day), observed by police departments nationwide. Martyrs are symbols of exceptional leadership and heroism in the face of difficult circumstances. There is no greater sacrifice known to man than to lay down one’s life in the defense of the nation.
“The martyr sacrifices themselves entirely in vain. Or rather not in vain; for they make the selfish more selfish, the lazy more lazy, the narrow narrower.” – Florence Nightingale.
To honor the Martyr’s, Madurai city Police organized a 5K run on 20.10.19. Many Educational institutions in and around Madurai participated in this marathon. Our SAMCE students also participated in this 5K marathon to pay tribute to the Police Officials in an enthusiastic manner. Ms.Ajumunisha, Coordinator of the college accompanied the student teachers. Marathon winners were appreciated with cash awards & Medals. Each institution was honored with a Shield to recognize their participation.
